The Ontario Young Leaders (ONYL) was developed by a committee of young leaders in the Ontario credit union system. This committee looks to create a space to develop and empower the network of Ontario Young leaders so that, together, we strengthen ourselves and the credit union system.  We do this through planning and communicating intentional time for collaboration, networking, and learning and development. We feel this will help to attract and retain a community of engaged young professionals who are ready to lead.

Please review the following prior to applying: 

  • We require manager approval to apply to our committee.
  • Your commitment by applying to this committee is for a minimum of a two-year term.
  • The estimated time commitment is 2-3 hours per month during work hours (this includes full committee and sub-committee meetings), additional time may be required (this can fluctuate based on initiatives being worked on).
  • We offer a hybrid attendance model, we do aim to meet in person twice a year. This should be discussed with your manager (as your credit union/system partner organization would approve your time out of the office).
  • Optional: You can submit a letter of recommendation from your manager/leadership team.
  • Important Note: All applications will be considered. Please note, there is a current need on the committee for website management (Word Press), graphic design, and social media management skills.
